Privacy Policy

TerraBright is a free tool for modelling ore bodies and computing optimal open-pit mine designs. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. We keep it short because we collect very little.

What we collect

• Account details from Google Sign-In: your name, email address, and profile picture URL, as provided by Google when you choose “Continue with Google.” We only accept a Google-verified email. We do not receive your Google password and cannot post or act on your behalf.
• Content you create: the projects, exploration targets, and simulation scenarios you save — i.e. the deposit parameters you enter and the summary results you choose to store.
• A sign-in session: an opaque cookie in your browser. We store only a hashed form of it, never the raw token.

We do not use advertising trackers, and we do not sell or rent your personal information to anyone.

Computation happens in your browser

The pit-optimization engine runs locally, as WebAssembly, inside your browser tab. The deposit model you build is solved on your own device — it is not uploaded to a server to be computed. Data is sent to us only when you explicitly save a project, target, or simulation, so that it's there when you return.

Public vs private

Your content is private by default. If you mark a project or target as public, its contents (including the associated simulation summaries) become visible to other users — for example on the community map. You can change visibility back to private at any time.

Third parties we rely on

• Google — sign-in (authentication) only.
• Cloudflare — hosting, the database that stores your account and saved content, and (if enabled) a bot-check on the sign-in page (Turnstile).

These providers process data only to deliver the service.

Retention & deletion

Sign-in sessions expire after 30 days. Your account and saved content are kept until you ask us to delete them. To delete your account and associated data, email info@minebright.com from your account address and we'll remove it.

Security

Traffic is served over HTTPS, the session cookie is HttpOnly and Secure, and only a hash of your session token is stored, so a database leak cannot be replayed to impersonate you.

Children

TerraBright is intended for students, geologists, and mining professionals and is not directed at children under 13.

Changes

We may update this policy; material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date above.
